Overview

The annual American Artwork presents a juried collection of contemporary media. Now in its 20th year, 2,000 copies will be printed in Hong Kong and mailed to design firms, art consultants and galleries. Trim size is 8.5"H x 6"W. Printed on 128# Japanese Gloss art stock, smythe sewn binding.

Juried by California College of the Arts Painting Professor Emeritus Howard Eige and former Oakland craft gallery owner Jan Christensen-Heller. Our publications were called "stunning" by the San Francisco Chronicle and "a work of art in themselves" by the Sacramento Bee. Since 2003 we've exhibited over 3,500 artists, with great feedback.

There is no jury fee. If juried in participation is $198 for one page, or $395 for a two-page spread. Participants receive 8 books, or 12 when taking a spread. Shipping is included. The 3% processing fee is added if you opt to use a credit card. Note: postcards are no longer offered.

We jury from the image(s) you want to use. Please attach them to the submission form, or send via email. Printable JPGs or TIFFs—at least 350 ppi when sized to 6” at the largest dimension. Do not upsize (add pixels) to achieve this.

Submit for the 2025 edition here. The deadline is June 15, 2024. The publication date is October 15th.
