The grackles that come to my city backyard feeders are aggressive and dominant, but also warn the flocks of little sparrows when a hawk or eagle is sitting high in the treeswatching. I enjoy watching the iridescent grackle feathers change color with the sun. Ive been working for several years on this series of common bird paintings. I love the decorative arts and nature and try to bring some of both to my art.
