Hilda was a Cuban friend and collaborator with Secrets Under the Skin, an arts-based research project linking the Ewe peoples of West Africa with the Arará peoples of Cuba. She is pictured in a cane field, liberating her ancestral spirits, metaphorically represented as butterflies.
