I love the color and form of tea bowls and like to present them on a stage. The shelf is a black stoneware that has been wood fired. Is is made from extruded strips of clay which are held together with nails that melt out somewhat during the firing, but help to give the shelf its structure. The thrown white stoneware tea bowl is glazed with a traditional Japanese Temmoku which is also enhanced by the fire and ash.
