On the journey to the sacred mountain Wakaywilka in the Andes Mountains in Peru, we visited the ancient temple of the Mamakonas–elder women who resided in the ancient past at the top of the world.  Their life purpose was to connect with the mountains and Spirit, and dream the vision of humanity into the waters that ran abundantly around the temple and down the mountainside.  On another trip to Tolantongo, Mexico, I saw the Mamakonas’ faces in the rocks and the waterfalls and I knew in my heart that they still exist, everywhere where there is moving waters.
