Art Glass Wall Sculpture
by Christopher Jeffries

Blown Glass

Hand sculpted geometric forms using a variety of wood, steel, and cork tools. Each piece is sculpted into a square or rectangular shape and cooled in an annealer. After sealing and polishing, each piece is sand blasted, coated and mounted.

This series forces me to step back and look at it from a distance, and allows me to work on a larger scale. The wall compositions become puzzles for me when I am looking at them. How shapes and colors affects each other and how to make the viewers eye move throughout the whole composition. By changing one color or the direction in which it comes off the wall changes the whole design. The empty space between forms become the simple beauty in the overall composition.
