Lidded Vessel 1

$258

Ceramic Vessel
by David Zdrazil

Wood fired stoneware, local clay slip, Maple
6″H, 5″W

This vessel has a rich variation in color and surface due to the wood firing process and the unrefined materials used to make it. It features a turned Curly Maple lid treated with food safe beeswax.

“I make functional objects that blend historical and contemporary ceramic styles. I develop glazes and clay bodies that often include local materials in order to connect my work to my environment. I prefer to use wood fired kilns for my work because of the rich surfaces that can be produced by the atmosphere and the challenges presented by the process.”
