The image is created on a plastic support and subsequently transferred to archival paper. Paintings created by this process are also called monotypes.
Sydell Lewis combines natural and abstract imagery in relationships that are open to interpretation. She focuses on the affirmative part of life through color and sensual texture. Her training in science and dance as well as art brings both order and fluidity to her work. Museums and galleries showing her work include the Triton Museum and the San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery.
